Disco Baby!
So last month we headed down to Pioneer Square to a thing called Baby Loves Disco at one of the local night clubs. And it's just what it sounds like-disco music and dancing with babies. There's also a room off the dance floor filled with toys and quiet space. Jan and I thought it was a great idea -- we get to socialize the baby and we get to socialize with the other parents-without having to suffer through some kind of Raffi Hell.
The event coincided with Helena's nap, so we showed up a bit late, but it was a good time. All those disco hits were played (though, we questioned whether playing Right Said Fred's song "I'm Too Sexy" was all that appropriate...), there was a bubble machine and scarves and all the Juicy Juice you could drink. We only talked to a couple people because we showed up late and many folks had already left. Helena was a bit bewildered the whole time. I guess we'll have to download some Gloria Gaynor and Bee Gees before next time so she'll be prepared. Oh, wait--that's tomorrow!
