Snow in Seattle!
Rarely does it snow in Seattle. When it does, it usually disappears in moments. Not this time! We were down in Tacoma at at friend's house Saturday night when the flurries started. By the time the steak and raspberry crumble were gone, there was two inches of the white stuff on top of the car. Helena had never seen such a thing and quickly took to eating straight off the roof of the car.
Driving home was a cinch; by the next day, though, everything was iced over but good. Work still went on, the schools were all delayed, and more importantly it felt like actual winter. The flip side to it actually feeling like winter is that it actually feels like winter -- the temperatures haven't risen above 30 the past few days and we're expecting more snow tomorrow!
Helena and Daddy played in the backyard today, brushing the snow off all the flat surfaces and uncovering the buried lawn gnome. Then we went to the park where Helena found a ball and Daddy found a diamond ring (jury's still out on whether it's real or not). There's nothing like barreling down the sliding board into a pile of snow!
